Tour guide: Marcello La Speranza, Historian Maximum number of participants: 20 After a brief search for traces in the immediate surroundings this tour brings us inside the former fire control tower. In the exhibition ‘Erinnern im Innern’ the command rooms present the procedures involved in aerial surveillance and air defence on the ‘home front’ during the Second World War. The use of foreign and forced workers for the construction of the bunkers and the role of the air force helpers in the war effort are explained. Various found objects, such as an aircraft bomb and a bazooka, are witnesses to daily life during the air attacks. This tour is given in the framework of the exhibition “Vienna.
