ZEITREISEN
Sechs Jahrzehnte Architektur. Eine essayistische Intervention
(JOURNEYS THROUGH TIME. Six Decades of Architecture. An Essayistic Intervention)
The film is part of the exhibition 'In The End: Architecture. Journeys Through Time 1959 – 2019'.
To mark the retirement of its founding director, the Architekturzentrum Wien takes a look with him at around sixty years of international architecture history. A film by Andrea Maria Dusl supplements the exhibition as an "essayistic intervention" with Dietmar Steiner in the lead role. The film is screened both in the exhibition itself and in the blue container docked onto the outside of the exhibition space.
'Journeys Through Time' is a film about sixty years of architecture. Dietmar Steiner, for many years director of the Architekturzentrum Wien and one of the leading architecture experts in Europe, summarises his journey through the last 60 years of architecture in essay form. Andrea Maria Dusl's film is an intimate portrait of Steiner's brilliant analyses of architecture and lucid insights into socio-political and culture-historical continuities and fractures.
