The selected buildings are not restricted to Vienna, most of them are the result of open competitions held in rural areas. The focus is on structures comprised of prefabricated elements, recreational complexes, housing structures, interventions in historic substance and the shift of level between the architecture and a natural environment. In the range of the various independently conceived premises there is a tendency throughout the projects for spatial definition based on scaffold-like or screen-style solutions. These architects do not express themselves in the form adopted by the materials. The materials and construction form and structure what lies between them - i.e. light, shadow, views, orientation, movement calm, seclusion, openings, climate, the diffusion of inside and outside and functional multiplicity. The paths taken vary, the aim is the same: overcoming the architectural object in favour of the architectural state.
