In the End: Architecture
Journeys through Time 1959 – 2019
Exhibition: 06 October 2016 - 20 March 2017
Architecture is always closely tied to the social, technological and social developments of its time, so it provides a very good reflection of current challenges and issues. We look at the diversity of architecture movements and look for inspiration for today. How relevant is, for instance, the 'Soft' urban renewal propagated in the 1970s still today? After this look back we concentrate on interesting current movements, such as, for example, an industrial building made of loam, an office building without any heating, or a revival of the idea of participation in the planning process by future users. How should our future be built, and who decides on our built environment? We lend our imaginations free reign and simulate an image of the future with models.
