The recent competition for the renovation of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Villa Tugendhat and the announcement of the winning firm, combined with what we know of the latter, mean that the original substance of one of the major works of modern architecture is under immanent threat of destruction.
In collaboration with the architecture historian Stephan Templ, the Architekturzentrum Wien has written an open letter to the Mayor of Brno. This letter is also an appeal to architects, architecture historians, culture producers and institutions around the world to provide their support.
