The format “sundays” (sonntags), which was developed back in 1997, took place more than 250 times over a period of 15 years. Conceived as bus trips, these excursions in and around Vienna were augmented once a year by architecture trips. At the end of 2011 “sonntags” had to be discontinued for budgetary reasons. The online photo documentation offers a look back from 2006 onwards.
From 2012 scheduled tours were offered only in the context of exhibitions and cooperative ventures. In addition the “Sommertours” provided visitors to Vienna and those who already know the city with an opportunity to discover architecture in the city.
At the end of 2014 a flexible and independent format was developed, which was given the name “Az W on Site”. It covers a wide range of architectural information and education services: from simple, short building visits to bus excursions and walks organized around specific themes. Short preparation times allow a response to current developments. Through the comprehensive coverage of current building activity and the focused look back at the complex history of architecture “Az W on Site” finally fills a gap in the Az W programme.
