The City of the Future – p[ART] The purpose of the three-year cooperation between the AHS Heustadlgasse and the Az W under the p[ART] programme is to pose questions regarding the city of the future, and to formulate shared visions for the development in Aspern, perhaps even realising some aspects of the latter. In the course of urban development the demographic situation is changing rapidly, for example with the influx of people from different backgrounds and from the most varied of different situations. The issue of mixture is core to this development zone, in particular, and is scheduled to play a key role in our project together. In winter 2014 the class 6D developed the final exhibition in Az W. In summer 2014 we had a guided tour at the building site of aspern Seestadt and created fantastic utopian drawings of the future development of aspern Seestadt. In winter 2013 we visited the new WU Campus and a new urban development area in the 2nd district. In summer 2013 the class 2D was engaged with the redesign of the garden: surveying, planning, drawing In winter 2012 pupils from Heudstadelgasse secondary school together with the Az W team developed “social maps” of the Donaustadt. In summer 2012 pupils of the 6C class have conducted interviews with those involved in the Seestadt.
