DOGMA95 (Manifesto by Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg) + bauMax (Austrian building supplies market) = dogMax (Designing according to 10 dogmas, at a scale of 1:1)
DOGMA95 was a revolution on the film screen. With the manifesto DOGMA95 Danish director Lars von Trier successfully struck a liberating blow against increasingly extravagant productions with expensive stars and digital reworking.
At Graz University of Technology the ten dogmas of the directors Lars von Trier were applied to architecture. For example the only materials that could be used were those available in a bauMax market, drawings were made freehand, without electricity, and the designs were implemented at a scale of 1:1. IN Az West the dogMax space modules will be presented at real scale. They show that the conflict between "building supplies market or architecture" can be solved. The design seminar was directed by Prof. Andreas Hild (HildundK Architekten, Munich), Markus Bogensberger and Oliver Elser (academic assistants). DogMax manifesto and further information on the design method and results can be found at www.dogmax.at
