Surface in Space A series of lectures and discussions organised by the Architekturzentrum Wien in collaboration with Ebenseer Betonwerke and Zement + Beton. INFORMATION FOR THE PRES Press Conference: Tuesday, 22nd January 2002, 11:00 pm A series of lectures Tuesday, 22nd January 2002, The Urban Square Tuesday, 16th April 2002, Planted Space Tuesday, 11th June 2002, The Village Square Tuesday, 15th October 2002, On the Urban Periphery Surface in Space is presenting current realised or planned projects over the course of four evenings. These projects are all concerned with the design of contemporary public space in various European towns and regions by architects of different nationalities. The aim of the lectures and discussions in the series Surface in Space is to encourage and promote the public discussion of architectural issues relating to urban space, planted space and free surface in villages and small towns as well as on the periphery of urban zones. The firm Ebenseer is committed to an ongoing partnership with Austrian and foreign architects who use their creativity to contribute to the development of high quality solutions in the field of design for public squares and product-solutions. Zement + Beton, as a confederation of all the cement producers in Austria, provides the country with a platform for communication and information regarding concrete as a raw material and the large variety of uses to which it can be put. |
